Let's face it most MPs in SD are fairly hidden. Most do not have signs etc. I started a picture gallery where mongers can post pics of the MPs and Casas themslves.

I have seen countless mongerers walking up and down calle santiago looking for Spa Michelle, with no luck. I usually walk them in and they are like "how the hell am I supposed to find this place"? LOL

There are seperate albums for Daytime and night timeplaces. I can add more albums to better organize as we add more pics. I started the albums off with photos of Michelle, Cisne, Mona Lisa and Elegante. I will shoot a ton more photos next trip including the harder to find places.

I am open to any feedback on how to better organize the photo albums as well as the forums. I will be working on the actual site itself in the coming weeks.

I forgot, one of the most useful things I have posted for mongers so far. A Map of the Gazcue area of Santo Domingo. This is ground zero for mongering in Santo Domingo. There are a ton of places all within walking distance, also within walking distance is the colonial zone, major casinos and the Malecon!

I have lots more planned! I am adding links to general travel stuff right now. Currency converter cheat sheet, travel etc.

I need to get back down to take more pictures and collect more info.

You seem to be resident expert on Boca Chica. . . .

How safe is this area(sd) on a scale of 1-10. Where are the bad areas in SD, I would like to see a map of where the ghettos are.

The area in that map is pretty darn safe. Having said that, things have gotten a bit worse in the DR lately. I used to walk that area at all times of night and never think twice. I still walk it at all hours, but I somehow feel less safe.

Recently I was at a bar near el conde and had my laptop with me. The barmaids told me to call a taxi to take me to my hotel. It was short walk, but you need to walk past a very dark cemetary etc. I had done this walk countless times, but it just felt different this time.

I didn't run into any problems, but am more aware of my surroundings at all times.

When I was there last in September 2004 I walked around at night. My hotel owner also told me it was dangerous part the area on the south-west side of the map.. corner of Malecon and Maximo Gomez... there are a lot of abonded contrstruction projects there. However, this is the route I took 4 nights in a row walking back from town to get to the hotel though..

I personally never had any problems but it is quite dark and there are muggings going on.. some people asked me for directions though.. I told them and they moved on..

BTw the getto areas are more north of the map (above Bolivar) , way out east across the river and way to the west past the Zona Unversitaria (which is across from Maximo Gomez to the west for about 15 blocks)

Thanks for the info on the santo streets. I am not worried about getting mugged because the only thing they could take from me is advice, But at the same time I would use taxis because I dont get paid to fight.

Brooklynbeas, So you went the hood part of santo to look for freaks, Wow now that takes a lot of nerve. I am glad it didnt backfire on you.

I have gone to all the hoods in santo domingo. A few trips back a taxi driver took me to a disco in Los Minas, which is a pretty bad area. I had zero problems.

MY last two trips I have been hanging out at a car wash in villa juana. I also went to a disco that was packed in villa consuelo. In all of these places I was the only gringo. I still had no problems.

Would you recommend walking from the Juragua to Spa Michelle or Mona Lisa? Take a moto, taxi?

Hey peoples. I stepped on Dominican soil for the first time on Jan 14 ot this year. I spoke a little Spanish and was paranoid as a muthafucka. I stayed in Sousa and not once felt like I had to watch my back. Maybe it is b/c the people were so friendly. Maybe it is b/c I am a 5'9" 250lbs black guy from Brooklyn . But if I felt safe in a hood like Sousa, Why wouldn't anyone feel safe in a big city like Santo Domingo.

By the way this may be a little off topic but is SD a good place to find a novia ( a REALLY novia not a "notaputa)

There are a few million people here and you need to watch where you go. There are 1,000's of choice chicas here. :D

I feel safe wherever i go... most of the time the looks i get in the ghetto no tourist places are looks because they cant believe i am there... most of the time they respect you for trying to appreciate their culture... sometimes they envy you and something could go wrong... Nothing ever went wrong so far... but the only place i felt unwanted was this ghetto bar in SDQ

Any neighborhood bar can be risky, whether in DR or the states. Noone really likes outsiders coming in and competing for the local women. I avoid the barrio barras in MX for this reason. They will happily accept you in the bigger places, but if you start mucking around with THEIR pussy, all bets are off.
I haven't had a physical problem yet, but have gotten 'the look". Just be careful out there.

Rear Wlindow. You have "Southern Coast of D.R. or NOTHING!" under your name. So let me ask you. Have ever been to the North. To Sousa to Caberete to Puero Plata? If so why are you holding a torch for Southern Coast? Just curious. I love the Northern Coast. Especially Sousa. By the second day everyone knew who I was and I got a lot of love considering that I only knew how to say "es tu puta?"

The Southern Coast moniker was bestowed upon all of us south coasters by The King. I have not been North yet, but I love the south cause one can go to Santo Domingo and see/fuck some of the most beautiful creatures that God has placed on this earth. AND, given the fact that Boca Chica is the beach for the capital, all the girls go there on the weekends. Serious eye candy, baby. And that means a lot of non/semi pros maybe looking for a little fun.

If you see these babes, they will give you a nice massage. Got a nice one from the babe in the middle while another watched and ticked my nutt sack. Can usually find them around Napolitano. Their names are Maria, Corina and Cristina.
