Power Finance & Risk publication reports that the AES power generation company seeks to sell its assets in Latin America, including those in the DR.
In the DR, AES is responsible for approximately 40% of the national generation capacity with power plants AES Andres, Itabo and Dominican Power Partners (DPP), generating 988 megawatts.
The company is also interested in selling off its operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Panama.
When Listin Diario asked for a confirmation on the Power Finance & Risk story, AES Dominicana responded: "At this point the headquarters have no plans to sell assets in AES Dominicana or in any other Latin American AES operation."
