President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela is expected in the DR tomorrow, 30 June. On his agenda is signing of the letter of intent for the drafting of the purchase contract for 49% of the shares of the Dominican Petroleum Refinery (Refidomsa). Chavez will also be attending celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the birth of ruling PLD party founder, Juan Bosch.
With the developing situation in Central America, it is not known whether the events in Santo Domingo with President Chavez and Fernandez will take place as scheduled.
