You will see alot of couples. It seems more of a "date night" kind of thing to me. But if you love the music and the dance, it's worth the experience at least once. And if you're single, you can always grab someone outside or make eye contact with someone inside!

Of the concerts I have attended in the DR this was the worst venue. You are either "inside" or "outside". If you are inside it is too crowded and the sound is too deafening. If you are "outside" you are comfortable but cannot really see the band.

On this occasion I went with Ajax and we were glad to be "outside" when a middle-aged lady threw a stinkbomb onto the dancefloor. Some outside tables (not ours) were tipped over as everyone rushed out holding handkerchiefs to their faces. This is the bouncers carrying the culprit out.

These sorts of incidents seem quite common. There have twice been smokebombs thrown in Classicos to my knowledge. All part of the fun, but when they start with grenades I shall cease attending the concerts.

It's not really the best pick-up venue. There are better (more cost- and time-effective) ones like stores, cafes and dancehalls. But if you are going anyway for the music you might get lucky.

At that concert a Dominican offered me his attractive "sister" as a bachata instructor on the floor but I was already with the lovely but volatile Selena so I politely declined. This was Selena's response when I tried to make her jealous about it:
