The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (SEOPC) assured reporters yesterday that the construction work on the elevated roadways at the intersections of Nunez de Caceres and Ortega and Gasset is advancing. These structures are part of the Duarte Corridor Plan. The Ministry established detours in order to ease the traffic jams that result from the construction.
SEOPC machinery are working on the perforations needed to install reinforced concrete pillars to support the elevated roadway at John F. Kennedy and Nunez de Caceres avenues. A Ministry spokesperson said that the work is 60% complete at that site.
To facilitate traffic around the construction area, the Ministry has established the following detours:
Those that took a left to get to the center of the city by John F. Kennedy Avenue, and used Jardines Fontainebleau, now have to use Jardines de Kyoto and Jardines de Versailles streets.
Those that move along Nunez de Caceres Avenue and used John F. Kennedy Av. going North now should use "F" Street and Luperon Avenue.
Those that used Dr. Defillo Street, going North, now should use Amelia Francasci Street, "F" Street, and Luperon and Los Proceres avenues.
Those that used the Jardines Fontainebleau and then used John F. Kennedy towards the center of the city should now use the Jardines Versalles and Jardines de Kyoto streets.
