Paya case stagnates in justice

A year after the Paya, Bani asssasination of 7 suspected drug traffickers, the case has stagnated in the Dominican judiciary system. When the assassination was first known Senator for Peravia, Wilton Guerrero accused the governor of Peravia, Bienvenido Montero, Police commander General Hilario Gonzalez and provincial prosecutor Victor Cordero of being responsible for allowing drug trafficking operations in Peravia, as reported in El Caribe. At the time he also accused state prosecutors of looking the other way and indirectly covering up for influential persons in government that would be involved.
