I have been to the DR a couple of times and I've done the brothel scene as well as the bar scene. The last time I selected my chica at the bar and paid the exit fee and off to the Raizor.

My real question is if any of these bars will accept a credit card for the exit fee? I would assume that they have patrons pay with cards.

Any thoughts?

I think you might be right too.
Traveling abroad with the sole intent of partaking in activities which are ILLEGAL in the states, I do believe is a CRIME ,if a prosecutor really wants to break your balls. Not to mention it could be used at some future time in court in a perhaps unrelated matter to PROVE you are of "questionable charachter".
Why would you leave a paper trail like that ???
The "dont leave home without it" does not apply when mongering.
And Why in the world would you trust them with your cc info in the first place ?
I can hera you on the phone now,
"where was the last place you used your Platinum card sir"
"oh, I was i this Whorehouse in the DR, and ........."

If you are hell-bent on doing something like this, use a Pay-Pal Visa debit card as a credit card. You'll limit your exposure to credit card fraud, but you still have that paper trail.

And anyone using the Pay-Pal card while traveling, make sure you don't use one of your major credit cards as a back-up funding source. Set up your Pay-Pal account to just use the funds you transfer into the account. That way, if someone gets ahold of the card, they can only drain the funds you put into it and no more.

Thank you all for your replies.

You don't think that you are at the same risk when you pay at your hotel for your room with a credit card? Especially when they ask for your passport and photo copy it. Or really any resturant, we assume that the vendor is honest and isn't going to steal our identity. I pay for dinners and lunches all the time for my clients in the DR. Granted my question may be a huge stretch but, it is a bar, they charge for drinks so a $100 charge wouldn't look all that unusual.

Business dinners and lunches at fine hotels are a bit different.

In almost all cases selling pussy is either clearly a dirty business with hustlers and criminals or a clear cut and open one with professionals and service providers. It seldom has an in between point (but someone will point out an exception). Sometimes it is not quite clear who is who. Save the gambling for the casino and hit the Automatico if you want to have peace of mind......

It is not usually to your advantage to use credit cards out of the country with the exception of rental cars where they are required and in your best interest because of the additional coverage the best cards give you. But as far as dining and drinks typically the exchange rate-conversion fees that most credit cards charge along with other fees means you are paying for the convenience. When you book lodging from the US direct to the hotel or someplace like Expedia where you can use your card that is fine but if you can't book by credit you will probably get a better rate for cash in most 3rd world countries. I would bring cash or travelers checks and go to the money exchanges every couple of days that way you will get a better rate and avoid the fees. Even if you get 3% cash back on many credit cards for dining ect the fees will wipe it out big time.

If you need to whack your card to pay, there is always an ATM within spitting distance these days. Get your pin number for the credit card, and draw down ATM funds. In either case, there's no problem charging your card at any establishment that has a merchant account. It will not show up as Tits and Ass take-out on the charge. It will be just the merchant's business identifier, and they are 99% sure to have a travel and entertainment merchant account. Most of these comments about concerns are over the top. (from someone in the business). No AG state-side is going to charge anyone for buying ass in a foreign country, nor will such a history ever surface anywhere. Most escort services in Canada take cards btw. The descriptor is always discrete, and 'no', M/C and Visa issuing banks do not know the merchants are are selling ass. Its approved corporately as something else. "entertainment" etc. I never hestiate to use my card when ordering in. But then again, I read my monthly statements, many people do not.

I knew a guy that disputed a charge at the old Cisne before Allen had it. He paid for 60 minuts and got 40 or similar. He called visa to dispute. . .. . . .. lol. . .I am sure he told visa it was a "massage" or something. . ..

I have used the CC to pay for punani at Casa Teresa before. The problem is they charge you that 26% on top of your bill. Pay cash in the D.R. always. It's easier to negotiate. On my last trip I fucked a puta with a 500RD note in my hand and she wasn't getting paid until paydirt. Cash is King in the DR.

You probably did not intend to do so, but the way you portray the situation is not quite the way it actually is.

1. It will not show up as Tits and Ass take-out on the charge. It will be just the merchant's business identifier, and they are 99% sure to have a travel and entertainment merchant account.

2. Most of these comments about concerns are over the top. (from someone in the business).

3. No AG state-side is going to charge anyone for buying ass in a foreign country, nor will such a history ever surface anywhere.

4. Most escort services in Canada take cards btw. The descriptor is always discrete, and 'no', M/C and Visa issuing banks do not know the merchants are are selling ass. Its approved corporately as something else. "entertainment" etc.

5. I never hestiate to use my card when ordering in. But then again, I read my monthly statements, many people do not.

1. If a vice unit is investigating an escort service/whore house..... your statement could say "bible school" it would not matter, they know who the merchant account is attached to.

2. :dontknow:

3. Crimes committed by US citizens in a foreign country are not prosecuted by State AGs, thats the a fed problem, and prostitution is not a federal crime, but operating a criminal enterprise across state lines is which is why large escort business are often targeted.

4. Is Prostitution in Canada legal (or parts of Canada)? If not and the vice squad has an investigation (with your credit card statements), the next time you land at the airport someone may want to speak to you in private.

5. No one may ever ask you a thing, and no provider you use may ever be the target of an investigation, but why take the chance since so many high profile cases have come to media attention where credit cards have been the primary method police used to show the transaction took place between client and provider?

Saw on the news last week several brazilians and 1 american were arrested in a multinational sting for transporting women for prostitution. Where were the women working? Brazil, NYC, And DR!!!

Save yourself any possibility of being tracked this easily, and as others have already said, cash is cheaper. I use cash even for hotels. A couple of trips ago my wingman came home to several gas station bills on his AX, it was only used at restaraunts.

Corrado;618098, yes, if your a high profile target, such as the ex-gov of NY, then you should not be leaving a trail of evidence with an escort business. But as for someone average citizen being charged on home soil for such an entertainment expense in a foreign country? Its inconceivable to me. But then the US is becoming more of a police state, and maybe i am behind the curve of change.

Yes, escort businesses in Canada are licensed. I have used my card for over 20 years, without a problem here, same in Europe and Asia. Of course cash is best, i'm just saying that there's a lot of concern over card use with out much basis.

The thing you do need to worry about are the people that handle the card. There is more fraud from waiters i guess and people who specialise in identity theft.

The trade in Canada is very competative, and very interesting. Its also very regional. Montreal is by far my personal favourite. I like Vancouver too. All flavours here. We are a liberal democracy...so far. Few Canadians go south of the border in search of better, the pastures here are very green.
