The DR's mid amateur golf team was crowned tournament champions in its class during the Caribbean Golf Championships held in Turks and Caicos. The team had round scores of 70, 68, 72 and 73 and shot 5 under par for the tournament. The team dedicated the victory to the Dominican Republic and to the attending public. The Dominican team that played for the Perkins (Seniors) trophy came in second place to the team from Puerto Rico.
