[DR1] Section of Maximo Gomez closed

The Office for the Re-organization of Traffic (OPRET) has placed detour signs along a three-block section of Maximo Gomez Avenue, just north of San Martin Avenue. The detours are necessary in order to dig a large trench (9m by 700m) that will house the Pena Batlle Metro Station. According to the OPRET director, Diandino Pena, the public needs to be patient with the traffic situation during this period. He said that all the pre-fabricated pieces had been ordered and that he expected the work to progress fairly rapidly.
