Many hotels are listed but googling these places is incomplete. Does Colonial have a link? Found it once but it is like a F'in mystery to find out about their new section. Matum's email comes back undeliverable it is like they are all nuked out.
I will survive but if it is stressing me out I can only imagine what it is doing to some people have flight changes and being forced to going out of STI like me on many flights. Someboddddyyy please some current info and links. Eldo posted some useful info on Matum but there website shows a useless email. Are these people on planet Earth???

DR is a 3rd world country, so you're lucky to find a hotel with 24 hours of electricity!!

Unless your dealing with an AI, you most likely won't find websites, links, reservation system, etc. Find the phone number and call the hotel directly. Which hotel are you interested in?

If you go to DR1.com, they have some information on STI hotels.

Thanks I know what you mean about the smaller ones not having sites but here is my situation with more clarity. With a POP flight change I am forced to fly out of STI on several flights already booked. Some of the flights out of STI are in the afternoon so they don't worry me so much but unfortuately for me my first one next month has a departure at 9am so being prudent that means 7am arrival at airport at the latest and returning the rental at 630 driving at 6 getting up at 5am Yuck. I don't intend to do this from in the middle of the city where I would prefer to just stay at Colonial for $14 just for a place to sleep for a few hours. I will be driving from Sosua the day before and will explore the city so the next time I will not need to ask since I will try the driving routes out first hand.
So this is what I need
1) close or easy drive to airport in early morning
2) It would be nice if there was a bar with putas nearby but not necessary since
I will be well drained but who knows I might find a good one and bring her
with me and give her bus fare back.
3) Unless I stay at one that emails me a solid confirmation that I feel very safe
with I will probably book on Expedia or Orbitz so I feel half assed secure.
4) Since Colonial downtown would worry me driving in the morning I am looking
at one of the following but don't know exactly where they are or drive time.
A. Platino
B. Century Plaza which I think is only 4 lights from the airport
C. Los Jardines
D. Matum again by monument but someone said easy drive but I am afraid
of potential morning traffic or drive problems.
E. Aloha Sol again I think by monument
F. Hodelpa Garden Court (old courtyard) I know the most convenient to
airport but highest price and I would not be there to enjoy it past 6am.
Anybody have info on the drive time to these and any comments as far as chica availability at a bar nearby like I have heard Ahi bar by monument only somthing similar close to the airport. I will return the favor and do a nice report on what I find when there to help others out in the future with these questions.

1. All hotels in Santiago are no more than 20 or 30 mins in traffic. I make the early morning drive every other month.

2. Not many places with guranteed putas period, much less close to one of the hotels. Putas are top dollar(passion and illusion by airport) unless you go the hit or miss route. Everything is 20 or 30 mins away at the furthest.

3. I travel there every other month with no reservation and i haven't encountered a booked solid hotel in 3 years.

4. Save the money and stay at the Colonial. They have a new building($30-$40), rooms are clean and the price is right. Any negative reviews are probably over 2 yrs old. Again, all hotels are within 30 mins in traffic. Matum is good also if you pay the 1830 peso local rate. It's even closer to the airport, has a casino next door and the monument across the street with nearby restaurants.

Again, i travel every other month and haven't made a reservation in 3 years. But if it makes you feel comfortable, you can call Lazarus at the Colonial (809)247-3122. He's the owner's son and speaks perfect english. Or you can call Antony at Matum (809)581-3107. He's the manager and also speaks perfect english.

Hope this helps!

It helps a lot and Thank You. I guess I thought about it driving at 6am anywhere is usually pretty safe but being my virgin debut in Santiago was hoping for that close Century feeling. I will take you excellent advise and call both of them and check it out. I have been on Colonials website but can't find it now and was looking for their email. Anyone have Colonials email or website or both. Also just for the record the email listed on Matums website hotelmatum@live.com I don't think is working or they are not answering. After reading Eldorobs post about staying there I emailed them last week and got no response and tried again twice this week once it was returned as undeliverable. PS Thanks again I appreciate it.
