The National Drug Control Department (DNCD) has displayed 57 packages of cocaine weighing 61 kilos, seized from four French nationals in separate actions at La Romana and Puerto Plata airports. According to Diario Libre, in La Romana, the drugs were detected by the DNCD's K-9 dog unit in the luggage of Angelique Attilan and Nabila Ait Aoudia, and Dominican-French Maria Isabel Guentes Zacador, who were to board a Corsair flight to Paris. Also, 47 packages of a powder - either heroin or cocaine - weighing a total of 50 kilos were discovered in a container in Haina Oriental port. The packages were in two bags and a backpack, wrapped with adhesive tape and coated with grease to avoid being detected by the anti-narcotics dogs. No suspects have been arrested in relation to the latter case.
