Political scientist Cesar Perez is challenging National Ethics Commission director Vinicio Castillo to step up to the plate and denounce everyone who is engaged in corruption in the current administration. Perez is criticizing Castillo, who recently said that President Leonel Fernandez was "too benign" and that he had "an unprecedented level of tolerance". He added that because of Castillo's alliances and position in government he has the opportunity to denounce high-level corruption. However, Perez also pointed out the contradictions in his statements, reminding readers that he was the lawyer for Baninter. "It is interesting that Vincho speaks of those cases of intolerance, but there is a documented and proven act, of the failed banks (Baninter), during which he was the lawyer for those banks."
