A child and a farmer died due to a lightning strike in Villa Riva, San Francisco when a tornado swept through central Cibao provinces yesterday, accompanied by strong thunderstorm. Reportedly, the man and the child were returning home on horseback when they were killed instantly. Signs and trees were toppled by the force of the winds. Two thousand families had to be relocated due to flooding. The Weather Department has warned that the rains will continue.
