More than 1,600 athletes from 6 countries have registered for the 24th International Codetel Marathon that will be run this Saturday, as of 4pm around the Mirador del Sur Park. RD$1 million in cash prizes plus awards will be given out. The City of Santo Domingo has denominated the road race as its official marathon. Competitors between the ages of 15 to 90 and people with special needs, including visually impaired runners are taking part. The starting point for the 10 km run is on Cayetano Germosen Avenue at the intersection with Italia.
