This hotel is Chica friendly. Sometimes if you come in late they will hit you with a 20 fee. I did have this happen my first night when drinking. So from then on I enetered in the elevator down in the parking garage. This bypasses security!

Also for any business travelers like me. Intercontinental holtels are part of the Holiday Inn Chain!

I highly recommend the Intercontinental Hotel. It was $85 per night and cheaper since I had a AAA card.

There is free internet access (but you get only 15 minutes for free). I think it is 20 pesos for every 15 minutes.

There is a very nice pool and a nice place to work out.

This hotel is also chica-friendly. But there is an entrance fee for the girls. I think it is 200 pesos. I am not sure. I do not remember.

But a very nice hotel. The breakfast buffet is also good.

But the casino in this hotel sucks.

Today, I got a letter in the mail about the newly-built Hilton Hotel in Santo Domingo. I do not have their rewards card. Maybe I should make one. But I think this hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the Jaragua Hotel.

I'm still deciding if I should stay here or at the Intercontinental. Have any of you stayed at the newly-built Hilton?

Hilton Santo Domingo is a state-of-the-art hotel with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and is located just a few minutes from the old colonial city of Santo Domingo. This brand-new property is adjacent to a commercial mall on the Malecon. The hotel offers 228 rooms and suites, two restaurants

Hi there,

I have the letter with me right now.

It says, "Special Triple AAdvantage Miles Offer inside"

From July 12 through October 15, 2005, you can earn Triple AAdvantage miles for double Dip stays. You need to provide your Hilton HHonors and AAdvantage account numkbers when making reservations and at check-ins.

The Intercontinental gives you 15 minutes of internet service for free.

But it cost 200 pesos for 30 minutes.

You need to get a ticket from the front desk in order to use the internet. If they tell you that you need to pay for 30 minutes, just give them a surprise and sad look. they will just give you the 30 minutes for free. It worked for me. ;)

A few corrections I want to make here.

#1. The first 15 minutes of internet access is free. If you want 30 minutes, it is 200 pesos.

#2. This hotel does not accept AAA membership cards.

#3. The fee for the girl to go to the room with you is $20 plus an 8% tax so it is around 800 pesos.

Hey everyone

Whenever I go to Santo Domingo, I stay at the Intercontinenal Hotel.

It's around $85 to $100 per night (depending on the season and the type of room you want).

This hotel does not accept AAA membership. But they do have corporate rates.

Breakfast is included and it is very delicious--scambled eggs, all kinds of fresh squeezed juice, ham, cheese, crossants, toast, cereal, milk, coffee, free newspapers (Miami Herald), bacon, some type of Dominican plantation, cakes, bagel, etc.

You can use the internet for free. But only for 15 minutes. 30 minutes is 200 pesos and an hour is 400 pesos. There are three computers and the internet speed is pretty fast.

This hotel is only $10 to $15 more than the Napolitano. But there is a huge difference in terms of service and quality between the two. So I recommend that you pay the extra $10 to $15 per night and stay at the Intercontinental.

For those of you who like to gamble, do not go to the casino inside this hotel. I recommend that you go to the Jaragua casino. If you stand in front of the hotel, make a right and walk for about five minutes. You will see the casino on your right. This casino has a live band, free food which they serve between 10 to 11pm, and the bar has great drinks. For example, a large glass of Johnny Walker with Coke is around 150 pesos.

Here are some pics.

I last stayed at the Intercontinental in December of 2005. At that time, it was chica-friendly.

But someone from another website told me that it is no longer chica-friendly.

So for those of you who plan to stay at the Intercontinental, I recommend that you ask the front desk if guests are allowed to stay with you. :)

I will be here until Thursday afternoon (tomorrow afternoon).

I remember seeing your post about the Intercontinental Hotel not allowing guests. I emailed the hotel a few days before coming here (just to double check). They said that guests were allowed.

Then that night, when the girl was not allowed to the hotel, I told the front desk that I have the email as proof. But the front desk said that maybe there was a misunderstanding.

I should have listened to you in the first place. My bad.

I'll be in Santo Domingo for one extra day after my trip to Sosua (April 3rd). So I hope to see you then. I'll send you a PM when I have the exact date. Let's grab a bite. My treat! :)

Day 3, Tuesday, March 29

During the afternoon (at around 3pm), I went to a place called "The Garden House". This place used to be called "Cisne".

The owner is a Cuban guy. His name is Freddy Barrera. The address is Calle Pasteur No. 21
Gazcue, Santo Domingo
Tel: 809-685-0415
He speaks very good English. He seems like a very laid-back guy.

During the day, there were around 7 girls. They looked very young and cute. The face were around a 7.5. Bodies were around an 8. Most of the girls were short (around 5'1" to 5'3").

The owner told me that he charges 2,500 pesos for an all-nighter (if you pick up the girls after midnight). He said that he has around 40 girls at night. So I told him that I would stop by then.

I went to this place again at around 3am. I saw around 20 girls. But half of them were asleep on the sofas. LOL

None of them grabbed my attention. So I left.

If you like a short and cute girl, then "The Garden House" is the one for you. If you want a tall and glamorous type of girl, then Casa Teressa is the one for you.

Last night (Tuesday), I went to the Jaragua Casino at around midnight. I forgot to ask what time they usually serve free food. I'll try and find out tonight or tomorrow. LOL

At the bar (where the live band plays), I saw only 4 girls. They were not my type (they were a bit on the heavy side). So I passed.

Wendy was playing the slots. She still wanted $100. So I passed.

Not many girls at the casino last night. I was there until 2am. So I left.

Then I went to "Lapsus Night Club".
There is a waiter (whose name is Willie) who speaks English. So for those who do not speak Spanish, you can talk with him.

The address is Avenida Independencia No. 503
Telephone: 809-687-4866

I saw around 10 girls. One did caught my attention. So I ordered a beer for the two of us (300 pesos for two beers).

I asked Willie how much it is for an all-nighter. He said its 2,500 pesos for two hours. This club does not have rooms. You need to take the girl out.

I said 2,500 pesos until noon. He said no. So I just paid for the beers and left.

Cheeno
03-29-2006, 04:52 PM
After passing on "Laptus" and "The Garden House", I went to a place that was next to "Laptus". I do not know the name of the club.

The waiter told me that it is 1,500 pesos for two hours (two pops). This place has five very small rooms. Each small room has a sofa that is around 1 feet wide and 5 feet long.

Only two girls were working. One looked like Fat Albert's sister. So I immediately passed on her. LOL

I met a girl name "Rakel". She is around 5'5" tall, slim, medium-sized breasts, and short black hair.

Face: Around a 7.5
Body: Around a 7.5
Atttitude: 9 (GFE, BBBJ, not a clock watcher, she took her time, etc.)

This place does not have a shower. And it is not a very clean place. So keep your expectations low.

Also, missionary is probably out of the question since the sofa is so small.

Rakel's cell phone number is 809-988-2375. She does not speaks English.

That wraps up Day 3.

For all you late-nighters, this is a fun way to meet girls.

There are a few cute dealers and waitresses at the casino in the Intercontinental Hotel.

Their work shift ends at either midnight or 3am.

So at around midnight or 3am, they wait in front of the hotel, waiting for the bus to drive them home. If you see a girl that you like, just smile and start a conversation. Ask for her number. And go from there.

The dealers make only 6,000 pesos a month (the waitresses make less) and most of them have babies to take care of. So they are willing to work something out with you.

Cheeno
11-16-2006, 09:08 AM
The casino at the Napolitano Hotel, the dealers and waitresses end their work shift at 5am. That is too late (or too early  ) for me.

I do not exactly know for the Jaragua. I "think" that it is 11pm (or midnight) and 6am (or 7am). Again, I am not sure about this.
