Police convicted in five deaths

Several police agents have been convicted of the murders of five people in the Mirador Sur Park in the capital. They were sentenced to 10 years in prison, according to the District Attorney for the National District, Alejandro Moscoso Segarra. The crime was committed on 30 December 2008, and patrolmen Genaro Ventura Vinicio and Ricardo Cuevas Aquino were convicted because the bullets that killed the five matched the weapons assigned to the policemen. The five victims allegedly had long rap sheets.
