Fireworks destroyed

The Interior and Police Ministry has destroyed more than a million fireworks, as part of its ongoing efforts to keep dangerous fireworks out of the hands of children. The importation and sale of pyrotechnics, which were immensely popular during the holiday season, was banned two years ago due to the large number of accidents caused by misuse of fireworks. The Ministry has also charged Neftali del Rosario with illegal fireworks manufacture.
