President Leonel Fernandez has sent a bill to Congress proposing the creation of the Dominican Quality System (SIDOCAL). The bill sets the basis for the establishment of quality systems that are in line with international quality standards, essential for the export of goods and services. The bill establishes institutions outside of government that would be in charge of determining quality standards in local production of goods and services.
