President Leonel Fernandez has sent a bill to Congress proposing a commercial bank loan for equipping the Dr. Heriberto Pieter cancer center in Santo Domingo. The loans are for US$34.7 million and US$8.8 million and will be taken out with the Fortis Bank of Spain. The works will be undertaken by the Consorcio Hospitalario Dominicano (Cohodo) made up of Spanish company Icuatro and Dominican company Conproina, which signed a contract with the Presidency Office for Engineering and Supervisory of Public Works on 13 May 2009.
