Following the steep New Year fuel price increases, passenger and cargo transporters are announcing new price hikes for consumers. Yesterday, Fenatrado, the union that illegally controls truck and freighter transport in the country, announced that it would be increasing its charges. Fenatrado controls 6,000 units nationwide. Public transport union Conatra has already announced fare increases of RD$2, RD$5, RD$10 depending on the length of the ride.
