I just booked Boston to Puerto Plata for two $911 with American Airlines March 24-31. I just got back from a trip in December and waited and waited for the price to drop. The price never budged, I didn't know if it would go up so I jumped on it. I looked at Delta, Continental, Jet Blue, all way more expensive and Jet Blue didn't have the dates I wanted. I really didn't want to fly American Airlines again. The last two times (July 09 and December 09) I flew with them my bags were delayed for a day in Miami. I complained and they finally gave me 28,000 airline miles enabling us to move up to 1st class for another $100 fee. Boy they nickel and dime ya. Anybody from Boston fly any different. This is my 5th trip in the last two years and if there is a better way i would like to know. Thanks

whenever when I use to travel from Boston to the Caribbean........mi airfare always use to run round $450R/T - $500R/T........so your prices are on the mark

the cheapest airfare goes way back of course to the 80's and 90's before all dem taxes went nuts........mi had flown as cheap as $122R/T back in da day......but then a dollar was worth a heck of a lot more than today.....

Yeah, there aren't many very attractive options for traveling to the DR from Boston. It's better if you live in NYC. But it's great to see there's someone else from Boston going down there to represent ISOC. (By the way, in all seriousness, the chicas all say they like us Red Sox fans much better. I think it's that we have much bigger dicks than those New York Yankee fans.:rofl:)

Have fun...

I have had problems going through Miami more often than not. Delayed luggage is a common problem. That's why you need to have a carrying on with enough clothes for a couple of days until they get your luggage to you. A better option on a connecting flight is San Juan. I never had this problem going through there.
I'm surprised Jet Blue did'nt have a comparable price.

I like to wait until the LAST MINUTE to book. I price watch on www.kayak.com and then when I find their best price, I go to Priceline and BID about 40% LESS than that. Seems to work well. However, you don't always get your choice of flight times on Priceline, BUT if you NARROW your request down enough, you are pretty sure of what you are getting.
