Overpasses ready for March

Public Works Minister Victor Diaz Rua says that the overpasses under construction at John F. Kennedy with Nunez de Caceres avenues and on Dr. Defillo and Kennedy avenues (opposite TeleAntillas) will be ready by March, as reported in El Caribe. He also announced the start of construction of the north-south tunnel that will link Ortega y Gasset Avenue and Santo Tomas de Aquino Street in Santo Domingo. The tunnel will run under Mexico, Pedro Henriquez Urena, Cesar Nicolas Penson and Jose Contreras avenues to end at Santo Tomas de Aquino Street, near the UASD state university. Diaz Rua said the tunnel, which will run under buildings in this area, would be approximately one kilometer long. It is part of the Duarte Corridor that is under construction by a consortium of Brazilian company Odebrecht and Grupo Estrella of the Dominican Republic.
