During yesterday's press conference at the Hotel Melia, National Drug Control Department chief Rosado Mateo said that they had reports that 123 airplanes with drugs had landed in 2008, and that this number was reduced to 62 in 2009 thanks to the efforts of the task force led by Colonel Elvis Soriano Familia. Soriano Familia was accused by a caller to El Gobierno de la Manana morning talk show who identified himself as Jose Figueroa Agosto. The caller said Soriano was responsible for the Gonzalez Gonzalez murder. Sobeida Felix had also accused him of removing a bag of cash when the authorities confiscated US$4.6 million from an SUV parked at the Alco Paradisso high-rise apartment block in Santo Domingo.
