Today's Listin Diario speculates on whether fugitive Puerto Rican drug trafficker Jose David Figueroa Agosto is an informer cooperating with the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) or a decoy, as presidential drug advisor to President Leonel Fernandez, lawyer Marino Vinicio Castillo has speculated. The newspaper makes the point that what is known is that since he came into the open, the National Drug Control Department authorities and DEA agents have captured at least 40 high-level drug traffickers in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. The arrests began in the wake of the confiscation of US$4.6 million from one of Figueroa Agosto's known residences in Santo Domingo. Shortly after, the US FBI and DEA captured Figueroa Agosto's leading partner, Angel M Ayala Vasquez, known as Angelo Millones, in Puerto Rico. His arrest took place on 18 September.
