Gang accused of death of 12

The Police have arrested 8 members of a gang accused of killing more than 12 people, including 4 whose bodies were found last December at Km. 29 of Duarte highway. As reported in El Caribe, the arrested are first lieutenant of the Air Force Carlos Hernandez Montes de Oca, who, according to the Police, supplied arms to the gang and helped its members evade military checks. Also arrested are Miguel Angel Alfonseca Soto (son of deputy Gladys Mercedes Soto), Delvi Martinez Moreta, Enyer Mejia Manon, Rafael Pimentel Beltre Suazo, Daniel de los Santos Gutierrez, Carlos Miguel Zabala and Victor Manuel Fernandez. The Police say that Alfonseca Soto is suspected of being the person who planned and paid for the murder of the 4 men found near Pedro Brand.
