Legalizing drugs in the DR?

The Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena (UNPHU) will be holding a panel discussion on the topic of Legalization of Drugs in the DR. The issue is being discussed on the grounds that drug trafficking money has permeated the authorities, including the judiciary, and reducing the profitability of the industry would be one way of diminishing its influence. The event will take place today, Thursday, 14 January at 5pm at the UNPHU Library Conference Hall. Specialists in Psychiatry, Law, psychology and addictions will be presenting their viewpoints.
