Presidential legal advisor on drugs, lawyer Marino Vinicio Castillo (Vincho) said "he did not like" the fact that the commission investigating the case of fugitive Puerto Rican drug trafficker Jose Figueroa Agosto had removed the two military officers who showed up at the scene of the assassination of former Police colonel Jose Amado Gonzalez Gonzalez within half an hour of the murder. "Because someone who had talked with the deceased half an hour before, unless he can give a very convincing explanation, should not be excluded from the case," said Castillo, as reported in El Dia. He said that Figueroa Agosto had a widespread network in the country, which included military and government officials.
