Does anyone have info about Apart Hotel Club Residencial, evidently across the street from the News Cafe Sosua? Is it chica friendly?

Am looking for a hotel with a decent pool where I can rent a suite with kitchenette within walking distance to the beach . . .any good tips appreciated . . thanks.

The Club Residencial has now become GF (no joiner fee).

When I was in Sosua last year they told me they would charge 100 pesos for each girl but I’ve just been staying there and they are definitely GF: no extra charge at all for girls and you can take as many of them as you like – the only restriction is that you can’t take more than 1 girl at once, so if you are into 3-somes you’d better stay somewhere else.

At night the girls must leave their ID’s with the security guy (a cool guy, by the way) but during the day they don’t ask for ID’s.

The apartments are spacious, have a nice terrace, kitchen facilities and are very clean, with proper clean linen, not like the Europa… The swimming pool is fine too (I had a lot of fun in that swimming-pool my last night).

AC apts are 1,500 pesos p/n and fan apts are 1,200 pesos p/n.

I liked this place very much and the only fault I noticed is that the AC is a bit crappy as it is only in the bedroom, so it is still hot in the living room and kitchen area where there is only a fan.

It is also a quite place, that is, no-one will wake you up with loud music at 10-11 am as in other places, which I appreciate since I usually like to sleep in till at least 1-2 pm.

There are quite a few mongers staying there from what I saw, as well as some families.

Those are really nice apartments, and they are chica friendly. The guys I know who stay there have never had a problem. The night security guard (I think his name is Jose) is insane!! He will have you laughing each time you pass him.

I thought they had the same deal as Europa, that you could bring in two girs if you paid extra for one of them ?

vagabond,

That’s what I thought too, but before checking in I specifically asked the girl at reception about this and she clearly told me that they wouldn’t allow me to take 2 girls at once even if I was willing to pay for the 2nd one.

I told her that there were 2 double beds in the apts, those apts can easily take 4 people, but she insisted that was one of the rules, so it looked quite strict to me. Since I was staying only 2 nights and most probably I was taking just one at a time anyway I didn’t give it much importance, but that may be an issue for a longer stay or for guys who do 3-somes frequently.

I think that rule is mainly to keep a clean image as there are also families staying there: a monger with a hooker can always be seen as a couple but having mongers around with 2-3 girls at once might shock some families and they would lose customers, I can’t find other explanation as the apts are big enough for up to 4 adults.

On the plus side they have two rooms with a water bed for those who don't like the hard Dominican style mattresses. On the negative side the telephone service in the rooms have been down for nearly a year.
$50/night in high season.

Has anyone stayed here lately? I need to make a last minute decision between here and One Ocean.

On DR1.com someone posted that Club Residencial is located next to Hotel Europa. Can someone verify this?

Thanks, I think I know where it is. I remember seeing it on my last trip.

It is located up the street from the Europa. Go away from the ocean about 1/4 mile.

I am staying at CR right now... awesome place - several steps up from the Europa (where Ive stayed 3 times and like alot). The apartments are big, clean, quiet, and the place is very chica friendly and safe. Jose is a pisser... and has hooked me up with 3 different chicas... all of which were total GFE's and never asked for more than 1000 pesos for TLN... Ive seen one several times and she doesn't ask for anything... just likes having a place to stay and is GREAT in bed... I'm not complaining! I passed her onto another guy who was staying here... he was equally pleased :)

All in all, if you're here for a couple of days, I'd stay at Europa, if you're gonna be here for a week or more - this place rocks...

I stayed at the palace last I was in Sosua and liked it.

But the last 3-4 months most of the palace mentions here on the board have been 'run down', 'staff fired', 'no girls', 'closing at new years' etc.

I'd like to try an alternative in january, and CR sounds nice - love waterbeds ;)

This place is great, its main drawback is that you can't take more than one girl at once.

if you can put all your valuables in the safe you can always leave one chica in the room and go fetch another. not sure why a little propina to the guard wouldn't work either.

Gladiator

Yes, bribing the guard might work, it's just a matter of trying it - after all, everyone has a price, especially in the DR :D

Apos

you can always tie the first chica to the bed and go get the second one...take an hour or two...chances are the guar will forget about the first one...and then the fun begins :D

The last few monthly trips down to Sosua, I've alternated between the Palace (sorry to see John sell it and my beloved Penthouse suite) and a greast place just two minutes by motorconcho away from the action...over my the old casino, I've been enjoying clean rooms, dependable maid service, great bar and barmaids, nice size, clean pool and a European breakfast served daily...the hotel: Voramar Hotel. A dutchman, Henk, runs the place superbly and bringing girls back is NOT a problem. First one is free, then $10 for the second one. Great for mongers who know the scene in Sosua, and can easily pick up their chicas without assistance. Cedula is collected by the nightwatchman until the chica leaves in the morning.

TropicBob's new residence when the Palace closes up. I'll be there in soon!

Tropic Bob,

Fill me in on a few more details about Voramar. Is there a frig and safe in the room? Is it just a room with a bed? What about cost per night?

Sometimes it is nice to have a place away from Dominos. There are times I just want to walk to the store to buy some supplies without getting attacked by the chicas.
