The Dominican Winter League continues to provide thrills for fans. Last night Licey, on the verge of being eliminated from the Final Play-off, squeaked out a 7-5 victory over their "eternal rivals" the Leones del Escogido and got to within one game of the finals. In "Death Valley", Julian Javier Stadium in San Francisco de Macoris, the Gigantes del Cibao eliminated all hopes for the Toros del Este as they defeated them by a score of 7-4. While the Toros leapt to a 3-0 advantage in the very first inning, the Gigantes came back with one run. Then the Toros scored again in the second and the Gigantes managed to tie the score. In the sixth inning, the Gigantes scored 3 runs and settled the issue.
