COE working in Haiti

Ten units made up of trucks and haulers have been sent to Port-au-Prince with food, medicines, blankets, mattresses, water, crutches and shovels to be distributed to victims of last Tuesday's earthquake. The convoy left the collection center that was set up at Civil Defense headquarters and coordinated by the COE (Emergency Operations Commission) and the National Emergency Committee. The aid will be received by Dominican volunteers who are being supervised by members of the Dominican-Haitian Chamber of Commerce. More than 500 Dominican volunteers are now working in Haiti.
