There are places where you can have beers and rum and if you want you pay the "salida" of one of those waitresses and you could have a fun time too.
Before La Canita was a good spot, it still is for the beers but waitresses are not top right now.
Other place which I like now is La Cubacana, lots of waitresses available there.
Then you have the strip places such as Chacarero(it has other name now) but I haven't been there in ages although I live very close. Babylon is another one.
And of course Crystals and Bohen but that is pricier as other spots I mentioned

You may no longer get much. Back then, 1,000 pesos bought much more than today. I guess it all depends.

Yeah, I was referring to the 1500. I kinda know my grand "una mil o nada" days are behind me...unless it's for a real quickie. I hope I still have "friends" who'll hook me up for less. Nice place, spacious, with some good-looking putas, but it is a constant battle to stop them adding on a "gringo" supplement. Everytime I think I have made my point (with the assistance of propinas), when I go back next time there is a different waiter and I have to start over. Salida is 500 but they will ask gringos for 700. Don't pay it!

La Barrica (facing Harbor View where Dominican Billy and I live) closed in the New Year. The manager has re-opened the Orion further down Avenida Colón (not far from the Malecon) instead. It is a bigger place, open on two sides, so more welcoming to gringos than La Barrica which was like the Black Hole of Calcutta. It is still mainly a dance-hall for Dominican couples rather than a whore-bar, however.

Hasn't been a year yet. But you're right, I've been hitting my last regular for about four years on the cheap. She still looks good. She's getting some serious WU, and has to stay sexy if she wants to keep getting it. However, she is two steak dinners away from being undesirable to many (like you)!

Thanks for the post. Got to get out of Sosua once in a while. Could you give spesific directions to Cubacana and Babylon ?

Both are located on or clos to main street that crosses Puerto Plata(avenida manolo Tavarez Justo)

Babylon is located 100 meters at the right from entrance padre las casas and across the Villa Progresso neighbourhood

Cubacana is located driving same street outside Puerto Plata across the place where they sell gaz just ask someone (la planta de gaz) and is there driving at the left the entrance of San Marcos!
