Next Thursday, the government will start offering free wireless Internet service over a large part of Santo Domingo, for the benefit of students and other people who do not have the service. Listin Diario reports that the service is part of the Digital Gap Reduction program and will be provided by the Ministry of Youth. The inaugural ceremony will be transmitted by radio and television at 7:00pm that day and will be led by Vice President Rafael Alburquerque. "This system will allow the public to access the Internet free of charge in the National District within three to five kilometers of the Ministry of Youth headquarters", said Youth Minister Manuel Crespo. The ministry is located on Winston Churchill Avenue at the corner of Desiderio Arias Street.
