Rafael Molina Morillo, Hoy columnist and editor of El Dia newspaper, focuses today on the unsolved murder of Eduardo David Rodriguez who was run down by a vehicle that was racing on Ave. 27 de Febrero on the evening of 6 June. The Chief of Police sent a letter to Molina after he made a comment criticizing the lack of action by the Police. Police Chief Major General Bernardo Santana Paez said that he had assigned Colonels Victor Hernandez Vasquez and Pedro Marino Ramos, who requested a search of the home of Luis Ulises Montas Castillo and his arrest. The Police chief explains that Prosecutor Berta Susana Blas told him she did not proceed because she had received instructions from her superior, District Attorney Jose Manuel Hernandez Peguero, not to. A team of Hernandez's own prosecutors discarded the basis for suspicion that is an individual's testimony about a friend who has been involved in an accident.
