Hundreds of people unemployed
It seems unbelievable, but it's true! Over 100 people have lost their jobs as a result of the recent fire at the airport. The fire ruined a large number of shops in the tax-free area of Aeropuerto Internacional Gregorio Luperón (Puerto Plata) airport. But now, to the frustration of the shop managers, their rental agreements with the airport authorities are not being extended. Some time ago rumours abounded about the fact that the airport authorities wanted to rent the shopping areas to foreign companies, because the current rental agreements were not profitable enough. Now, using the fire as an excuse, this latest decision by the airport management shows that the rumours were true.
This decision by the airport management has caused considerable outrage and unrest among the personnel working at the airport.

That method would have been common during Prohibition in Chicago but
that wouldn't fly here in the U.S. today very well. Apparently they still get away with that sort of thing. Those merchants with very profitable businesses will have to set up shop somewhere less lucrative.

Didn't US airlines use 9/11 as a means for downsizing services? Where the fuck are my meals? And i'm tired of eating with sporks when they do offer one.
And didn't the airlines use the gas hike to raise prices. And never lowered the prices when gas prices leveled off.
Oh my GOD! I can go on and on about good old USA!

I was referring to burning down or wrecking businesses that didn't play ball like a strong arm thing. I agree we all get fucked everyday.
One of my big pet peeves is that the minute they mention gas prices are going up on the news based on a spill, leak, embargo, war, boycott whatever. The stations raise the price immediately when they have the old cheaper gas in the ground sometimes enough for a couple weeks if they are not a busy place. Their wholesale price doesn't go up when the story breaks. Bastards

And when the oil prices PLUMMET, these same people will tell you "oh that oil is not even refined yet, it takes months for that oil to be processed "
My favorite though is " our profit margin on a gallon of gas is only pennies"
Oh really ?? then how do you explain a 50 Cent price diff from one station to the other. And I pay MORE for home heating oil than Diesel Fuel, which is supposed to have a ROAD tax on it.
Fuckers......
sorry for the off topic...

Dealt with that for years with resort up north. #2 fuel oil to burn in a boiler is the same damn thing as diesel fuel #2 off road which is dyed red. It is all about the additives and gelling for flash point that will tell you. #2 road fuel oil which is higher road tax in some areas if you are not able to buy it for farm use or agricultural like logging.
In cold climates like here #2 is mixed with additives and or #1 to prevent gelling which is the same as kerosene. There are ash and sulfur issues. I used to have a guy that could add this additive to my 1000 gallon tanks and save me about 30 cents a gallon. There are some serious kinks in this business. Muthafuckers

I hear ya mike, my bro and I are all too familiar with the Scam.
We run a Kubota tractor, 2 Dodge diesel trucks, had 3 at one time. But what sucks is I am now buying Diesel CHEAPER than #2, and even dropping 200 gallons of Diesel into the Tank for heating the home. These fuckers Llike Petro want a "delivery charge" which pads the price up to .75 cents a gallon. At ONE time, it WAS the other way around, but they flipped it on us. These cocksuckers make me ill.
