Without any official explanation, there is a shortage of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) throughout the country, according to a report by El Caribe. This fuel is used mainly for cooking, transportation and business. The unexplained shortage is causing concern among housewives and public transportation drivers. Consumers have taken to use the subsidized fuel, now that gasoline and diesel are at record levels. On the positive side, LPG use in vehicles reduces street air pollution.
