And he's got ISOC interested in his place. If he sets things up for us he'll prosper - otherwise he's dead or broke in two years.

I don't think he is aware of ISOC, unless Jimmy said something. If you paid by credit card it was $40. There is a $2 discount paying cash. I think the $38 is the standard price. But I do stand corrected if need be.

Hey Guy's,

This place looks good. What do you think the charge would be for the month of December? Could only see a few pictures of the rooms. Are they small? Do they have studio's?

How do they compare to say One Ocean or the Plams condos?

Also any recommondations on room(s)#'s to stay in? Is gound floor better than say a upper level room? Quite rooms away from the main drag?
Room that is more private than other? A room that is more chica accessable with out 3rd degree from the gaurd?

Hows the water pressure and hydro situation? Think Jimmy said they have safe in each room. Anyone confirm?

Thanks,
Look'in to book a room soon ;o)

I just finished staying there....Lorenzo doesn't speak great english
The single room is $40 a day
The double room is $50 a day

Now he charged me $38 a day plus $2 for safe.....
But the new charge is $40 a day plus $2 for safe..
And if you pay by credit card, it's an additional $2 a day

The Garden is a great place to stay...I just spent 2 weeks there and is pretty well booked for the month of Aug.

im just hoping when someone needs a single room and is expecting a $40 per night charge if he runs out of singles (can happen easily it seems) he doesnt force the $50 per night charge on us based upon the fact of having limited space and wanting to maximize profits.

Just got back from my first of many visits to Hotel New Garden. Lorenzo was great to us. The place was the same as last time. Hotel security guard works from 6pm to 6am and collects cedulas of the chicas while inside the hotel. The food is good. Definitely do breakfast there its nice. Chicas can be found inside the hotel also at times. I think they only let inside ones they know and possibly their friends. During my 5 days there were probably 10 or so chicas wandering around.

I HIGHLY SUGGEST emailing ahead for a room because the place was full while we were there.

Out of the ten times I've tried to stay there, I've only been lucky twice. Jimmy's always rubbin' me about that...lol

Both times I was with two girls, and we stayed in room #2, for 50 bucks a night.

I finally figured out you gotta reserve in advance.

No one asked for the girls cedulas, but I imagine it's because the word got out among the employees that they both checked in with me.

Breakfast didn't appeal to me there. I'm stuck on Rocky's breakfast #50. Now that's a big breakfast.

La Roca does a pretty good breakfast too, as does Scott's place. Scott just needs to knock his prices down a bit.

Scott's breakfast is good, but too expensive at 175 pesos.

You can get more food at Rocky's for only 125.

Rocky's # 50 has 4 eggs, ham, toast, jelly, and all the coffee you want. The 175 peso meal at Scott's has only two eggs.

Plus, it doesn't matter if you ask for regular or crispy bacon, eggs over easy or with the yolk fully cooked at Scotts, the cook will send it to you the way he likes. Everytime we've eaten at Scott's we've had to send breakfast back.
(Scott, you know I luv ya baby, but I told you that before)
I still really like the other meals he serves. I ordered a bowl of chili and some french fries the other night that was excellent!! Maybe he'll put it on the menu..

Something else to add here. If your renting a scooter or dirtbike NewGarden has a type of enclosed area used as a garage. It held 4 bikes and 2 scooters along with the hotel staff and owners car and equipment so its very convenient . Im not sure how safe it would be parking a motorcycle or a scooter out on the street but in there it was fine.

Just got back - New Garden is a great place - very very clean - nice pool much better than the Europa - the only complaint was the night security guard , a total asshole. anytime you brought someone back he would try to hit you up for money even if the girl had documents. if you said no he would then badger the girl to tell you to give him money. A guy a know who stayed there had a problem with a girl in his room (a real wacko i guess) he called the guard up to get her out and she wouldn't go for him either so he just left her there. He had to threaten to go to Lorenzo for him to finally do anything.
With the exception useless guard the place is awesome.

sucks hearing about the security guard he didnt ask me for anything the whole time I was there.I did have a few beers with him a couple nights when I just saw him sitting outside and I was having a smoke break between giving the chica some poundings. I did hear he asked a friend of mine for 100 pesos one night though and he gave it to him.

If they guy does his job I can see throwing him a tip at the end of the stay which I did, but definitely not hassling people during their stay.

i had a completely different reaction to the guard,,,
he was a nice guy who doesn't make much money,,,
i rented a moto for 10 days and parked it in their "garage",,
on 1 or 2 nites i brought the guy back some brugfal rum i got for 99 pesos,,
or i'd slip him 100 pesos a couple times during the trip.,,
imho it's nice to have the security guard on your side,,
always did that with the guys at the europa as well..
nice to have the guys that are carrying the guns on your side,,,
he'd watch my bike just that little extra and never asked for a cedula from my chicas...i'd just wave and he would do the same,,,
i always tip in the states and what the hell is 3 bucks here and there for the little fringe benefits it gives ya,,,

Not only am I'm not going to be shaked down by the security guard but I'll take the chica pass him not leaving the cedula either when they try that shit!!!!!! With that guy I didn't have any problems with except my last night when he asked my chica for her cedula when he didn't ask for hers the previous night. So I got close up to him so as not too front him off in her face and told him that him that was bullshit for doing that and I'm not giving him shit and we're not friends anymore

When the guards are taking care of me then I make sure they know I appreciate it...........

I agree. A couple of pesos thrown the security guard's way to look out for me doesnt seem a problem. Just as long as he doesnt have his hand out all of the time and his shinanigans doesn't prevent me from voltronin' up on some chocha.

Doesn't bother me to throw a small bottle his way, if it will mean a hassle free vacation. Remember we are not in the states. In the states we would just say fuck him and report him.

I have no problem throwing the guy a few drinks or some pesos at the end of the trip as long as he has earned it. The people down there who just stand around with their hand out thinking they deserve something for nothing ruins it for the hard working people.

Work for your money like the rest of us!
