Has anyone purchased any drugs from any pharmacy in Sosua/ POP? If so, were you able to get any drugs at the pharmacy without a prescription? I heard that from someone but i want confirmation from someone that has done it before. I know in the USA you need a prescription for most of the drugs.

The RX within the Metro Station in Sosua is a very good source for your meds, without a script. But I would write down what you want, and also check to see what generic brands are available as these maybe what is given to you. Also there is a small one next to the mini Playaro which will serve you well in Sosua. In POP you will find several dozen that will serve without a script.

I guess it depends what drugs.

Also, if they are critical for your health you may want to play safe and buy in the US. There are lots of products sold in the DR which would not pass tests in the First World and lots of fake copies of known brands.

Another issue is that most staff are untrained, unqualified and uneducated. Drugs are routinely sold loose. During my recent illness the doc prescribed two similar-looking pills, one to be taken once a day and one to be taken three times a day. The assistant counted them out and put them in two unmarked plain bags. This would merit a sizable fine and hefty warning in the UK and, no doubt, the US as mistakes could easily occur.

there are numerous pharmacys in sosua. was to two different ones last week. one a few doors down from NG and the other down by the casino

no script is needed for antibiotics or dick meds. not sure though what you are looking for. my gut says you arent going to get heavy hitting pain meds without a script though...

The only drugs I have bought in Sosua are Lepela, Viagra etc and you don't need a script for this stuff.

To the best of my knowledge the only pharmacy in Sosua that has a resident, trained and qualified pharmacist is the one next to the small Playero and opposite PJ's.

Prescriptions are needed only for class A narcotic type drugs, but most Dominican doctors will write one for you if you ask nicely.

What is lepela?

la pela is supposedly more similar to cialis than viagra but in my opinion is a lighter version of either. I actually like it better than either of the others. it cost 50 pesos in any farmacia. I usually grab 8 or 10 when i get there and then bring what i dont use home.

That is goog to know. Does it actually work as good as cialis? A lot of that over the counter generic dick meds dont work at all.

Can you be a little more specific?

You can even get stuff classified as a 'controlled substance' in the states without a prescription, but what is it you're looking for?

Careful with that . At least have your doctor write you a RX SCIPT for it and keep it with you. Dont just assume its ok. Its minor, but you dont need problems like that coming back in. I intentionally would GIVE away anything I dont have an RX for before boarding. I even keep my Script for my eyedrops, and I have documented Glaucoma. I dont need the hassle.

if I take one its mild, but I notice it. if I take 2 its very noticable. I never really have a problem but im not doing 3 or 4 chicas a day anymore.

I always go down with an empty prescription bottle in my name.

Coming home, even if they find the bottle and open it, how do they know that's it's Klonopin pills in there and not what the bottle says?

I will give an example. I always bring permethrin lotion just for a case I might need. The cost is $40. Checked out the same in Sosua pharmacy, the only stuff available was Lindane at 120 peso. Less effective and much more toxic.

I always bring a couple boxes home with me. It's cheap and my US buds love it. I find that it works the day after I take it.
