The District Attorney's Department and police officers from the Homicide Department have searched the home of Graciela Gomez, wife of Plutarco Gonzalez Cedeno, who is accused of killing humorist and television producer Milton Pelaez. Diario Libre reports that the search took place at 1:30pm in the Gazcue area of Santo Domingo. They were looking for possible evidence that could corroborate the accusations against Gomez. The search was led by assistant prosecutor Fabian Melo who had a search warrant for this purpose. Samples of Gomez's handwriting found will be compared with the certificates that Pelaez had at Banco del Progreso, in order to establish whether his signature was forged. The Pelaez family attorneys, Carlos Olivares and Carlos Balcacer, announced that they would be filing the indictment today because they have obtained documentary proof as well as testimonies from eyewitnesses that will support their case in the preliminary hearing. Plutarco Gonzalez is being held at La Victoria prison.
