Presidential Press Director, Rafael Nunez has asked the public to keep informed about the high prices of crude oil on the international market and to comply with the savings measures adopted by the government. Diario Libre reports that the measures include the prohibition of use of state-owned vehicles on weekends unless it is strictly for official purposes, a 20% fuel saving target by public institutions, providing electric generators to traffic lights in the National District, and reducing the number of public vehicles in bad condition. Other measures include the restriction of public vehicle circulation to every other day and the removal of speed bumps. Nunez was speaking during an interview in his office.
