Pablo Tactuk, director of the National Statistics Office (ONE), says that the next census set for October will include collecting information that will help prevent disasters, as it will compile data to determine the level of vulnerability of communities to hurricanes, floods and earthquakes. The National Population and Housing Census will cost RD$600 million, and 42,000 people are being recruited to collect the data from the population. Tactuk announced that the DR now has a Data Warehouse that stores all the data collected. The system, which cost RD$19 million, will soon be available to the general public.
