[DR1] Three arrested in hit and run case

The District Attorney for Santo Domingo has arrested three young men in their investigation into the hit and run death of Eduardo David Rodriguez last month on Abraham Lincoln Avenue during a drag race. The young men, called "jevitos" or "hotties" in local slang were arrested, according to Listin Diario, during a search carried out by assistant DAs Bienvenido Fabian Melo, Luis Gonzalez and Jose Francisco Polanco. Brothers Alejandro and Alfredo, better known as "Los Pinatas" and one man called Ruben were arrested. The search took place in the Las Praderas area, behind the Baskin Robbins ice cream parlor. Also seized under the warrant were three vehicles, a BMW, a Honda Integra and a Toyota Corolla that corresponded to descriptions from witnesses to the tragedy. According to Diario Libre, the prosecutor's office is also looking for three more young people in connection with the incident. According to ADA Polanco, one of the three has already promised to turn himself in.
