A new club has opened up on Ave. Independencia #305. It is around the corner from the Girls House, but on Independencia, basically it is across the street, from the restaurant Villar Hermanos which is located on the corner of Pasteur and Independencia, next door to Villar's parking lot that is located across the street from the restaurant.

Went into it, last night for a beer, around 10:30 pm, one other guy was in there besides myself, beers are 150 rd. Looks like it is owned by two guys and their wives or girlfriends were also there. They speak English, and the Dominican doorman speaks English as well. Spoke to the doorman for a bit and he quoted me the price of $100 US, for a couple of hours, and $200 US for all night. Spoke to him a bit and he said he could let me have a chica for 3000 pesos for 2 hrs., a little more expensive than the girls house who ask for 2,500 pesos for 2 hrs.

My impressions of the place: Looks nice inside, was only it's third night being opened, so the bar top wasn't even there yet, but other than that a nice classy looking place. The girls were top notch, haven't seen any other casa with as many good looking girls, especially if you like the fair skinned chica with long silky hair. I would guess that he had about 15 girls when I got there. Like I said top notch but again how long that will last is any body's guess because if he doesn't get some more clients in there the girls will go elsewhere.

Stew,

Although I am scheduled to see you @ The StewFest, I look forward to hanging out with you a couple of days in July. I have already planned this trip and providing you're available, we will hangout with you for a couple of days in SDQ before heading up to POP for The Thrilla @ the Villa II.

Is this place in the spot that used to be Lapsus. Because if so, I was there Friday night. An older dominican gentleman stopped me as I was leaving the Jaragua (I went to use their ATM) and directed me to this place.

Pretty decent place, with about ten hot chicas. Met the owner, an American, and had a few beers with a cute, very busty chica named Catherine. She quoted me 3000 for TLN, and I jumped on it. She was very good, but she didn't stay all night. But I really didn't mind, as it was the 10th night of what was originally supposed to be a 6 day trip. And I really didn't have a 2nd round in me.

I like the place and will be back.:)

No, that place is now called Riky's, it is more east of that place, basically across the street from Villar Hnos Restuarant, the restuarant is located on the corner of Pasteur, and Ave. Independencia. Pasteur is the street where the Girls House and Sky High is located.

You guys keep getting this place mixed up. It's NOT called Riky's, it's still Lapsus! Look at the place during the day. There is no "Riky's" sign anywhere.

Lapsus is Lapsus.

Well, yeah the sign is still there. But I don't think it's still called Lapsus anymore. At least that's not what the owner calls it.

He does need to change that sign though.

I have heard that The cuban guy Miguel that owned GH after allen the american dude sold it is the owner of 305. He had sold GH for 420k to the current owner. He then opened a place in la romana that his son ran. Apparently Miguel now has a dominican GF and was spending a LOT of money on her. Money coming from the club in la romana, so his son bailed and went to miami.

Earlier he tried to buy Monaco and turn it into high end club but the current GH owner got wind and outbid him. He turned monaco into foxys but has since sold it I believe.

Competition between these 2 will likely be a good thing. I actually had about 3 beers in GH last week for the first time in a LONG time. The quality was certainly down from what they used to have.

It's funny, every time I show up for a Santo Domingo casa run everything has changed completely from the prior trip. Casa life is like soap operas. You can miss nothing in a Month or everything in a Day.

Lapsus (formerly Riky's, formerly Lapsus) was damn near empty at the end of October. It was kinda sad. The "show" is gone and there wasn't much of a reason to spend any time there. GH wasn't much better but La Parada was packed with wall 2 wall big busted babes. Casa Teresa Ho's were looking a trifle worn and "Sky High" just plain sucked.

By the time I get back next Month this will all have changed. This is the longest I've been away from the D.R. in 4 years. I figured I'd miss a cycle and let everything change and change back for the next trip.

Hooo boy... I'm going to go by and take a picture of the sign. It says "Lapsus" and has been that way for many months.

The "rikys" sign was only up for a month or so.

Now that I think about it, I'm gonna go by La Parada and check out the big hooters. I've always enjoyed lookin' at the bigguns, even if I'm not going to take them anywhere.

Better than that go in and ask the owner what the name of the place is "now". I had a friend who worked there for a few months, and she no longer works there, but she always referred to it as Riky's even though the sign never had changed. As you know things change quickly in the D.R., remember the restaurant we met at the other day, I knew what you meant when you said to meet you there, but it had changed names, even if it was only with a little sign. As you told me when I showed you the sign, to you it will always be the other place.

The place was "Lapsus" up until about a year ago last Fall. Then it fell to shit and the "Riky's" sign appeared (I 1st saw that sign in Nov. '08). The "Riky'ssign was gone and a new "Lapsus" sign was back in October. Doesn't matter though, the place is mostly empty and sux as of Nov '09. I will look in next Month. It will probably still suck. The place next door (used to be Tabu) I forget the new name....also sucked in Nov 09 and was closed for the most part of the Week. Back in Jan Apr and Jun '09 you couldn't even get into the joint it was so crowded. August and October were dead. There was also a definite dropoff in the tourist population during those trips. Gringos were few and far between in SD and BC.

There's no telling what we'll find there in 3 weeks.

I'm a junior member myself. For my first trip, in November 09, all the info I had was from this website, and I travelled alone. For my second trip, I hanged with Yayow, who is now having a blast in Sosua in his birthday. He is a great dude to hang.
If you plan to rent a car, I recommend you make yourself VERY familiar to the city with a map, and even then it may be difficult. People drive like you would not believe, and traffic sign are merely a suggestion. Just keep your cool, this is not USA!, Not even Puerto Rico (i'm puertorrican). There is a mongering google map in this forum, if you can't find it, I'll try to repost it.

Okay the mystery is over. "Club 305" is a new building around an old club. This guy from Miami (Ronny) bought the club and moved it to a new facility. I think he bought a lot more than that, too and pretty soon all casas in the area will be affiliated.

Here's why: Half the Chicas are from La Parada (now closed). Half are from Girl House (still open) and the Maitre D' is from Lapsus. The guy who used to manage security/ comin's & goin's at Lapsus is now the manager and the owner is "some guy in Miami".

305 is a very nicely put together facikity and nothing like it in the area comes close once it's finished. There's on site ST, Chica dormitories, interior courtyard patio area and VIP rooms, all in various stages of completion.

Sky High is owned by "some Cuban guy from Miami" and I'm hearing the similar descriptions all over the place. This isn't some random individual ownership....more to come.

I had passed La Parada the other day, and it was closed, I just thought it was opening later but what you said, explains it. I know Ronnie and his brother, I think if I recall his brother's name is Ronnie, and they are from Miami as you say, the other day when P2, and I stopped by the older Cuban guy was there, and we spoke with him a bit. Didn't know they had short time on site, what's the price for on-site, and what do the rooms look like??

Around the corner is the piano lounge #56 Pasteur Ave. Same owner as GBP, but a lot closer to the tourist area than GBP, same prices (1,000 pesos 1 chica, 1,5000 pesos for two for about an hour), smaller place, nice looking, two rooms on-site for activities.

The take out is $2,500RD just like the GH. About half the Chicas dormitory there. The rest come and go as they please and can be negotiated. I took a Chica out of there Monday night (2:30am). More about that in the upcoming TR. I didn't go up to see the rooms but there was a steady flow of traffic.

Unlike any other casa I've seen in Santo Domingo, they stay open until 4am each and every day of the week unless there's no business. Their biggest surge in business happens around 1am when customers fall in from the other casas.

These guys are positioning themselves to be a prime punani destination as the recession ends and monger travel gets back up to speed. My flights between SDQ and MIA were nowhere near full. Most of the single guys travelling on my flight to MIA from DCA were headed for CR. Most of the passengers on my flight to SDQ were church groups with the same T-shirts on. A couple guys who stay at the Acuarium and run missionary projects were there with their groups. One runs a mission orphanage and the other a clean water project (both through local Catholic diocese).

Wanna hear something funny? I was having breakfast with the orphanage guy one morning and he asked what we paid for the Chicas. I told him the casa price and he almost choked. He said he never spends more than $400RD. From that I guessed that he never ventured far from the siphy street ho's that hang around Ave Espana where "Jazzy Club" used to be. Eeewww!

You were probably on avenida san isidro or on the malecon west of avenida luperon. If you were near the caribbean sea it would be the malecon. No water in sight than avenida san isidro.

Couldn't tell it was dark but near there was a large Hotel looked like a large cruise ship upside down all by itself. Both sides of the road were Cabanas one after another at least 20 of them.

A pyramid with a chopped off top is more of a description of the Hotel near the cabanas.I wasn't on Ave epanol east of River I was there earlier in day when it was light.

I have known the maitre d for about 8 years. He worked at Remington Palace back when it was the best casa by far. He then worked at Aurora behind jaragua. Then he went to la parada, later to girls house and from your report made a stop at lapsus.

The older cuban guy miguel used to own parada, GH and a small dumpy place in ensanche la fe. They opened a place Climax in la romana. When yayow and I stopped in last week he told me he sold climax for 1.2 million. He sold GH for 420k a few years back.

BTW, the current GH owner is also cuban from miami and he owned foxys before selling it. There are lots of cuban guys from Miami in santo domingo.

Miguel and the guy that owns GH are going to be in some fierce competition. In fact miguel tried buying Monaco and the GH owner outbid him and opened Foxys as he was afraid of the competition.

Miguel is the father of the two guys from Miami. Rumor has it he has a dominican wife/gf that has been costing him tons of money.

We need mrhappy to weigh in but I think the woman that owns GBP and 46 is the woman that had Cisne before selling to Allan. She also had an MP called hawaii and her sister had a place out near the presidente factory. Her sister's place got raided a few years back during the crackdown. 2 nights before it got raided I spent the night there as my taxi driver, who yayow has met, was banging the owner.

When GBP opened some of the chicas were from the sisters casa near presidente factory. The heavy set blonde barmaid worked there and when yayow and I went to 46 1 or 2 of the chicas also used to work at that place.

Funny thing about 46. Yayow was there one day showing a chica pics from his party. I was in one pic and the chica was like "I know that guy". . . .I don't remember her for anything. . . .

Tell me how you got out of the area, and I can probably tell you where you were.

If you were on Espana, and went across the floating bridge to get to the malecon, I'd bet even money you were at the 30 de Mayo cabanas, which is what the malecon becomes as you leave the city. If you were on the malecon, you would have seen the ocean, it's impossible to miss, even at night.

To get out of that area, you would have had to go up on an elevated road to go north to the Autopista Duarte. In doing so, you would have passed the hugh rotunda with the big arch in the center, and long round buildings on each side.

Also, if you saw an overpass, or went under one, you were at the cabanas on the west side of the city, not San Isidro.

By the way, the chick that runs GBP is NOT the owner. I got to meet him the other day, but I couldn't tell you shit about him, other than she introduced him as the owner.

Prtyr is right, she ran Cisne for a time. That's where I know her from. Back in those days, she was quite the looker. She still looks pretty good, but she's put on a few pounds.

During day was no problem I could see ocean so I knew I had to go towards it [South] then left towards airport .

Reason for wanting to know where I was is because if there is 20 cabanas within quarter mile there must be girls in that area to fill them!!!!!!

Never seen so much neon lights and Cabanas granted by airport and Santiago has some cabanas and Puerto Plata by Ocean world but nothing even close to this place in Santo Domingo.

Oh, so your tour guide was a female? No wonder you got lost.

I still think you were in Santo Domingo on the malecon. As mentioned in above post the malecon (George Washington Ave) changes it's name to 30 de Mayo. With cabanas on both sides of the road and at night you probably would not have noticed the caribbean sea.

Since you were in SD on the malecon earlier in the day you would have had to do a lot of driving to get lost in the area of the san isidro cabanas.

Your assumption is right, I have seen several chicas hanging out near cabanas in SD.

My guess and I guess we won't know for sure until you get loss in the area the next time, and since you were apparently trying to get to the airport, I would guess you were on San Isidro (trying to head toward the airport), just past Charles DeGaulle in Santo Domingo East area, and yes there are many street walkers in that area.

Being on the Malecon, you would be heading in the totally wrong direction from the get go, to try and get to the airport, so I make this guess, assuming that originally you were heading in the right direction for the airport, and simply made a wrong turn, thus the guess of San Isidro, going pass Charles DeGaulle, I could see how that could happen if one got distracted by an attractive chica sitting next to him.

I seriously doubt you were back by san isidro later on, so you may have been at the cabanas on the malecon. . . . . .but can't think of a hotel that looks like upside down ship any where near the malecon cabanas.

About midway is my favorite cabana. favorite because of the name. La Officina. That way when a dominican dude is cheating on the wife and she calls his cell screaming "donde tu ta"? He can calmly say "mi amor estoy en la oficina". . . . .

Ha, ha. I remember there was a "La Oficina" in the gringo gulch in San Jose, Costa Rica as well, near several of the massage places, as I recall, and not too far from the Hotel Del Rey. I think it's really a cheap, short-stay hotel, serving the same function as the Santo Domingo cabaņas obviously.

Hmm, the last post in this thread was a while back but it seems to be the most appropriate place to post about Club 305. I wandered in on Saturday at about 10pm. It seemed a little quiet in there, no blokes sat drinking and about 5 ladies wandering round, though there may have been more somewhere. There were a couple of lookers though who approached me right away, I bought one of them a drink and stared at her hot body! She wanted 4,000 so I didn't take her home, but may well head back there again while I'm here.

On a dead night after Midnight she may be able to meet up outside the club at closing or he may get the management to bite but ever since they started with the on site fucking getting them outta there early.

Also, when Ho's quote outrageous prices it may be that she's been to the "Boom-Boom Room" several times that evening already and is levying a "nuisance tax".

A little more time scouting the Ho should loosen her up and elicit a reasonable offer.

Ta for the advice, if I see her again I will ask her how much again - she may make a lower offer or if not I will try to haggle. At least she now knows that I'm prepared to take it or leave it!

Tell her your buddies are in Boca paying 2,000 for all night and you may go there.

We not only outlast the Ho's, we outlast the Ho houses.

The more things changes in the destinations we visit, the less things change for us. We simply find new destinations. Better destinations. I've never been one to sit around crying about the "good ole days". Every minute of every day the Sun is shining somewhere on Earth.

The last time I stayed at the Acuarium there were a half dozen casas withing a 4-5 block walk (Ensanche Isabelita).

I wonder how many of them have survived the "Purge".
