The president of the National Drugs Council, Mabel Felix said that she has distributed RD$67.5 million to governmental and non-governmental institutions of the money confiscated in the case of the Zapata Molett brothers, following a judgment by a first instance court in the National District. The funds were awarded to institutions that are active in the fight against drug trafficking. The beneficiaries include:
National Drug Control Department (RD$33 million, 50%), National Drugs Council (RD$23 million, 35%), 15% to Hogares Crea Dominicano, Hogar Crea International and Meson de Dios.
