The Mexican-owned Dominican Telephone Company (Codetel-Claro) told the media that telecom problems had affected their mobile communications platform and incoming and outgoing calls yesterday. While connectivity issues are becoming increasingly common at the company, this could be the first time that Codetel has admitted to the problem being at their end, probably because it affected so many of their customers.
According to a press release from Codetel, from the outset, both local and foreign specialized technicians from the company that supplies the platform, Ericsson, and from Codetel worked to resolve the issues. Codetel apologized to the public for any inconvenience that this problem may have caused and promised to restore "100% connectivity" as soon as possible.
