The weather system that was located to the north of the island has moved towards the center of the national territory, and will cause a considerable increase in rainfall over the next few hours. Last night the National Meteorological Office (Onamet) forecast that the rains will be more frequent and intense in the north, northeast, the Central Mountains and along the frontier. Maritime conditions continue to be dangerous along the Atlantic coast, the Mona Passage and in Samana Bay. Caution is advised.
