Disgraced PRD deputy Julio Romero has announced that his wife Sonya de Romero (Wendy) would be running for a deputy post on the PRD ticket.
Neney Cabrera, spokesman for party leader and Presidential candidate Miguel Vargas, said that the PRD is testing the launch of the candidacy. The party argument is that this would serve to compensate deputy Julio Romero who was removed from the list of candidates for the next elections after women's groups protested against his candidacy. Romero has admitted to having impregnated a minor and then refusing to recognize the child. The mother took him to court. This is not the first time that Romero has fathered a child and denied paternity.
