Mary Pelaez, arrested for money laundering in the case of fugitive Puerto Rican drug baron Jose David Figueroa Agosto, says she has "cards up her sleeve" about the accusations that are keeping her in jail, which she will reveal at the right time. She says that the authorities want to use her as a scapegoat. She said "the country looks bad if they want to eradicate drug trafficking by keeping her in jail. "If the intention is to solve the problem of drug trafficking with me, I believe we are in a sorry state, because truly I have never seen drugs in my life," she said. Pelaez is accused of money laundering by putting several of Figueroa Agosto' properties in her name and those of her relatives. Pelaez was sent to Najayo jail while the case is investigated.
