The government treasury collected RD$19.25 billion in January 2010, not counting income from financial sources. This was 1.3% more than the income for January 2009, but 8.4% less than the income for the same month in 2008.
Minister of Hacienda Vicente Bengoa said that tax revenues made up 98.6% of the income and these were just RD$310 million more than the figures for 2009. According to a ministry press release, there was a large reduction in money from income taxes compared to 2009, some RD$600 million less. The sum collected from Income Taxes was not only less than in 2009, it was 7% less than had been estimated in the 2010 budget.
