United States Attorney General Eric Holder will be coordinating with his Dominican counterpart, Radhames Jimenez Pena, in an effort to secure the capture and arrest of Puerto Rican fugitive Jose David Figueroa Agosto and his Dominican associate Sobeida Felix Morel, as reported in Diario Libre and the Listin Diario. The US official said that the agencies under his command, the FBI, the DEA and the US Marshal Service would be instructed to work in coordination with the Dominican authorities.
The Attorneys General were meeting in Brasilia. In his analysis of the situation of the fugitive from Puerto Rico, AG Jimenez revealed all details of the case to his US counterpart who promised to provide all possible assistance to locate the pair.
Holder said he appreciated the great efforts that the Dominican Attorney General was carrying out in his fight against drug trafficking and organized crime. He also praised the efforts that they have made to professionalize and institutionalize the Justice Department, and mentioned the Prison Reform that has been carried out during Jimenez' term of office. This new alliance of attorneys general will allow Dominican officials to ask for help from the FBI Crime Lab, one of the most advanced in the world.
