Agents from the National Drug Control Department (DNCD) dismantled a ring of Canadian and Dominican drug traffickers over the weekend. Diario Libre reported that the agents seized 72 kilograms of cocaine, 32 cell phones, a gold Rolex watch, 4 cameras, a box of rubber gloves, US$49,000, a safe, a Fait Seven 9mm pistol with 3 clips and 100 shells, a black 2009 Acura SUV license plate Z-003735, and a red Ford Explorer pickup truck license L260912) that had a secret compartment in the truck bed where the drugs were hidden.
Dominican Wendy Magdalena Abreu Polanco and Canadians Oliver A. Willis, David George Daniel Parker and Mauro Guiseppe were arrested in an apartment building on David Ben Gurion Street in the upscale Piantini section of Santo Domingo. A Dominican cedula issued in 2008 was confiscated from David George Daniel Parker.
The group is being held at the DNCD while the case is prepared for the judiciary.
